Lugaw (loo-gaw) is a chicken and rice porridge type of dish that is a staple in Filipino households. Whenever I start to feel under the weather, or when the winter chill just won’t go away, I turn to lugaw for warmth and comfort. MMMMMM!

Ay! Filipnos!
This is the national dish of the Philippines. Beware, if you make the recipe below you may be mistaken for a tropical islander!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup vinegar
5-10 cloves of garlic, depending on how much you like garlic, quartered
1 1-2 bay leaves
5 peppercorns
3 lb of chicken – whatever cut/style you prefer
