potato and zucchini gratin

Last week I needed to use up some potatoes Mike had purchased from the farmers’ market as well as a pretty large zucchini I’d harvested from our back yard. I scoured the ‘net looking for potato-zucchini gratin recipes and didn’t find a really good one, so I tried to meld a few them together into [...]

1 jar pizza sauce
1 pkg (2 cups) shredded pizza cheese, such as [...]

scalloped potatoes

This recipe is from Mike’s mom – written on a 3×5 index card for him when he went away to grad school. Definitely a keeper! I’ve only made one change, adding garlic powder to the seasoning mix.
One note – you have to let this stand for one hour before serving, so plan ahead.

Benton’s BBQ Chicken Pizza

Alica’s been making some very tasty dinners, and tonight she made BBQ Chicken Pizza (one of the Svarovsky favorites when visiting the Bentons!) in honor of the ‘Bama-Georgia match up. I asked her for the [...]

We are members of two CSAs(=”Community Supported Agriculture“), one in Illinois and one in Indiana. The one in Illinois, Henry’s Farm, is fairly infamous for its fabulous variety of vegetables, and its servicing of Chicago restaurants. The one in Indiana we’re new to, ECO/TwinCrooks, which works with an [...]
