Hey,

Here's a recipe for the Friendship Bread minus the pudding

Follow your recipe for the 10 days of care and feeding...

After removing the batter for the other starters, combine the remaining cup of Amish Friendship Bread starter with the following ingredients in a large bowl:

2/3 cup oil (I used ½ c oil and ½ c apple sauce would work just fine)
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla or other essence like orange or almond
1 to 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Combine starter with oil and sugar.
Add 3 eggs, vanilla and apple sauce if you’re using it –mix well.
Mix remaining dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
Add dry ingredients to the mixture and mix well.
You can add 1 cup raisins and 1 cup nuts (optional), mushed bananas, apple chunks, pineapple, etc. and mix in.

Grease two loaf pans with butter, sprinkle with sugar instead of flour you can do cake pans, muffin tins, what ever shape you want to.

Bake at 325 degrees F for 45 minutes to 1 hour for loaves, 30 minutes for cakes, less for muffins. Cool 10 minutes, remove from pans.
Makes two loaves of Amish Friendship Bread.

Hello Kochsgarden,

This year we put tomato seedlings in from our local nursery around...the beginning of May. I planted some slicers later than that, and I still haven't seen any red ones (though a few greens). The romas just started ripening about 10-12 days ago.

Yep, it's been a very cool summer here,so my watermelon and muskmelon plants are looking green but not very productive. On the plus side, though, we did have sugar snap peas going until early to mid August.

Thanks for the comment - your site looks great!

When do you place your tomatoes out? And when do you start getting red slicers like Big Boys, Rutgers, Better Boys.
Growing up there in the north has to be tough some years, 2009 started out slow with low temps and a cool summer.
